If you need health care that is beyond the scope of services provided by the Swinomish Medical Clinic, you will be referred to a specialist. To ensure continuity of care, your primary Swinomish Medical Clinic care provider will coordinate with these specialists and other health care providers in the area. Payment for referrals or other services rendered outside of the Swinomish Medical Clinic are not guaranteed. Purchased/Referred Care eligible patients must follow P/RC guidelines.
(P/RC) (formerly Contract Health Services)
Services for Purchased/Referred Care (P/RC), formerly known as Contract Health Services, are supported by providers outside of the Swinomish Medical Clinic direct care system. When patients need medical services that are not provided at the clinic, Swinomish health providers will refer to an outside provider and assist with the payment of such services for P/RC patients.
Determination of eligibility for the P/RC program is the responsibility of the P/RC staff. This program has its own set of rules and regulations. P/RC is not an entitlement program, insurance program, or an established benefit package. P/RC payments for health care services are authorized based on clearly defined guidelines and eligibility criteria and are subject to the availability of funds. After Hours Medical Services (Emergency)
If you have an emergency need to access medical services while the SITC Medical Clinic is closed: Call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.
In the event you must utilize the hospital emergency room, you or an individual acting on your behalf must notify the Purchased/Referred Care staff at 360-466-7373 within 72 hours of the visit and leave a message with the following information:
- Patient First and Last Name
- Patient Date of Birth
- Patient Phone Number or another Number you can be reached
- Date and Time
- Reason for medical treatment
You will be contacted by the SITC Medical Clinic P/RC staff during regular hours.
