Licensing on the Swinomish Reservation
Planning & Community Development administers licensing of businesses, dental health providers, child day care centers, and tidelands. If you're not sure if a license is required, please contact the Planning Office by emailing or calling (360) 588-3002.
Business Licensing
You can apply for your business license through the online portal. Paper Forms are under documents in the online portal.
Anyone operating a business on the reservation must comply with Swinomish Tribal Code. Business licenses are subject to the provisions in Title 15, Chapter 6 – Business Licensing.
- Licenses are active for one year from date of issuance
- Licenses must be clearly displayed in business for viewing purposes
- Certain business licenses may require proof of insurance
- Licensees are required to notify Planning of any change in address or name of business

| Special Event Cleanup Deposit: $100, due at time of application |
| Licensee address or business name change: $10 |
| Late fee for renewals: $15 per 10 calendar days of delinquency after a renewal is due |
