An Air Quality ALERT has been issued by the Swinomish Department of Environmental Protection for the Swinomish Reservation.
WHEN: Today (7/20) through Wednesday morning (7/22) due to expected smoke from British Columbia. Levels may reach Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups in the evening.
There will be general haze for the rest of the week as the smoke will be overhead; how much is able to reach the surface for the remainder of the week remains uncertain. As you travel closer to Canada or into higher terrain, the more likely you will experience thicker smoke.
Those who are sensitive to smoke are advised to reduce smoke exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, use indoor air filtration, and keep windows and doors closed.
